App Inventors Club
Children bring their own mobile app ideas to life
Familiar block-based code
MIT App Inventor is an intuitive, visual programming environment that empowers kids to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets. Students create applications by dragging and dropping components into a design view and using a visual blocks language to program application behavior MIT App Inventor.
Complete App Mastery
Students will learn the basic rules of designing the app logic and interface, how to use programming language structures to obtain expected results. They will also create apps and games using a device’s hardware (GPS, accelerometer, camera, microphone). Additionally, they will also learn how to design the app's graphical interface.
Fun & Useful Applications
By the end of the course, students would have built the following applications:
-
To-Do List App
-
Space ship game App
-
Chat App
-
Travel Diary App
-
Password Generator App
In this course students learn how to create apps and games. First they familiarise themselves with the App Inventor interface and learn the rules of programming with events. They also learn the basics of the app design process. Then, they use the programming language structures (such as conditions and loops) to design the app logic. Students will use hardware of a mobile phone (accelerometer, camera, microphone) to expand the app functionality. They also learn how to prepare the game for publishing on Google Play Store.
